Zardari's health: Punjab MPAs asked not to enter into any controversial discussion
Punjab Assembly in its 32nd session chaired by Rana Mashood here Tuesday in a ruling has asked the provincial legislators not to enter into any controversial discussion on health issue of President Asif Ali Zardari in the House. The Chair on another issue asked different ministries to make sure that answers given by them in the Assembly are not erroneous.
Chairing the session, a total number of four resolutions were tabled by legislators Nasim Khawja, Samina Khawar Hayat, Mohsin Laghari and Zobia Rabab. They were passed on the occasion. A resolution by Dr Ashraf Chohan regarding plying of new Chinese buses on main routes of Lahore was put for another date in absence of the mover of the resolution.
In resolution passed in the House forwarded by Mohsin Laghari, a plea was made that quota for students of other provinces be kept in Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College in view of promoting good unison feeling amongst provinces, he pointed. Zobia Rabab in her resolution passed by the august House on the occasion demanded that status of tehsil be given to Sargodha.
Parliamentary Secretary Rana Tajammal answering queries on Commerce and Investment said that 98,430 people were benefiting from Food Support Programme in Lahore at present. About construction of Poly Technical Training Institute Bhera, parliamentary secretary pointed that Rs 41.182 million had been spent on the construction and classes have commenced in it from September 2010.
In a query parliamentary secretary said that there were no spirit manufacturing factories in Lahore. In another query, parliamentary secretary said that funds have not been received for the repair of building of Consumer Protection Court building in Lahore, which was not in a good shape, he pointed. He said request had been made for allotment of land for construction of new building for the court by District Co-ordination Officer of Department of Industries. In Punjab Assembly after mentioning of quorum by MPA Azma Bokhari and later on boycott of assembly by journalists on their demands house was adjourned for Wednesday (today 10:00am) by the Chair.
Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Raja Raja Riaz and other legislators outside the assembly premises showed unison with journalists on their demands stressing upon provincial authorities to clear issue of F Block of Journalists Colony along with Menace of 'Qabza Mafia' indulgence in the colony.
