Managing Director, Bank of Khyber (BoK), Bilal Mustafa inaugurated Raast Islamic Banking branch at Tank Adda, D.I.Khan, here on Thursday. Mustafa said BOK was committed to cater the banking requirements of Islamic Banking as well as conventional in order to encourage the economic developmental activities in the region.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by notables of the area and business community apart from BOK's Executive Director Mir Javed Hashmat, BOK Islamic Banking Group Head Kamran Masud Khan, Head Islamic Business Development Sohail Khan, Head Banking Operations Khurshid Alam and Head Marketing Syed Ali Nawaz Gilani.
He maintained that BoK Raast Islamic Banking has trader friendly network in all major cities of the country. "We are intending to grow network by establishing five new six branches by end of this month and it will further enhance in 2012.
He further said that the bank has also been serving Islamic Banking clients by providing them all banking services through its network across the country since 2003. BOK Raast Islamic Banking is supervised by proper Shariah Compliant Committee as per State Bank of Pakistan's rules, he added. In this regard Islamic Banking Group and full time Shariah Compliance Department was ensuring proper compliance of all Shariah rules, he said, adding this is a prime responsibility of BOK to provide Shariah Compliance schemes which are now getting encouraging results from the clients. Raast Islamic Banking showed considerable growth in profit of Islamic Branches during last three years. He further mentioned the BOK Raast Islamic Banking Group is actively working on new Islamic Products and with the establishment of new Islamic Banking branches will further enhance its clientage.
