Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday ordered an inquiry of incorrect information of granting 30,000 Pound Sterling for medical treatment of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi. Regarding point raised by Javed Hashmi about wrong information about his medical expenditures‚ the Prime Minister said he would hold an inquiry and if the reply given in the National Assembly was found incorrect an apology would also be offered.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the services of Javed Hashmi for the restoration of democracy in the country. The Cabinet Division had earlier provided information to National Assembly during question hour that an amount of 30,000 Pound was spent on medical treatment of Hashmi from the national exchequer. Hashmi, while speaking on a point of order, questioned the information provided to the House, saying that he had neither spent a penny of the public money nor of his party on his illness.
