At least five members of a family were killed as a result of suffocation and burn injuries, caused due to gas leakage, district police said. The gas leakage occurred from a cylinder at the house of Muhammad Ilyas, which also erupted fire, police said. As a result seven members of a family were injured of whom five succumbed to their burns at the hospital.
Those killed included head of the family Muhammad Ilyas, his three daughters Nabeela, Basharat and Kainat and son Shuaib. Two daughters namely Sana and Noreen were admitted to hospital and their conditions we stated to be out of danger.
