Pakistan Peoples Party has invited applications for Senate elections due in March next year. Announcing this, the party's Secretary General, Jahangir Bader on Thursday asked party hopefuls to apply in writing for the award of party tickets by January 10, 2012. Applications accompanied with a bank draft for 30,000 rupees should reach the Party's Central Secretariat in Islamabad by the due date, he added.
The senate elections are due in March next when half of seats in the upper house falling vacant will have to be filled through a special election process in accordance with the law and the constitution. The new senators will be elected by the members of the present assemblies.-PR
