The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday dismissed a petition of former President Pervez Musharraf's wife, seeking the transfer of Benazir Bhutto's murder case against her spouse from Rawalpindi to Lahore anti-terrorism court.
Sehba Musharraf alleged that the ATC Judge was seemingly showing prejudice. Therefore, the case could be transferred to an ATC in Lahore. Turning down her application, the CJ ruled that a case could not be transferred mere on the basis of apprehensions and assumptions.
An Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) Rawalpindi, while hearing Benazir Bhutto assassination case had ordered confiscation of both movable and immovable property and bank accounts of Pervez Musharraf after he failed to appear before the court and was declared absconder. His property details provided to the court by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) show the Chak Shahzad farmhouse, a 1,000-square-yard plot in Gwadar and over Rs 80 million in six different banks.
