Sindh High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association here boycotted court proceedings on Monday to protest kidnapping of a lawyer belonging to Mirpurkhas, namely, Mohan Lal. Expressing his views, HDBA President, Advocate Nisar Durrani said police is not registering FIR of the kidnapping on the pretext of confusion over jurisdiction of police station.
He said a delegation of lawyers led by member Pakistan Bar Council, Salahuddin Panhwar would be meeting Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in this regard. Fazal Qadir Memon of SHCBA condemned the incident and said that the kidnapping of doctors and lawyers of the minority communities is going unchecked. He demanded the federal and the provincial government to find the missing lawyer and ensure protection of members of their legal fraternity.
