An alleged bandit on Monday was killed in an encounter near electronics market in the limits of Aram Bagh police station. The encounter took place near electronic market Aram Bagh area where two bandits were busy in looting valuables from passers-by.
Meanwhile, the police patrolling party reached the spot and intercepted the bandits. Resultantly, the bandits opened indiscriminate gunshots to escape from the scene. On police retaliation, one of the bandits received fatal bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries on the way to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).
SHO Minhajul Hassan said the bandit was later identified as Arif Baloch, 31, son of Qadir Bux, a resident of Saifi Lane Baghdadi Lyari.
He said they had also recovered a TT pistol from him. Meanwhile, his other accomplice managed to flee from the scene. No case was registered till filing of this report.
