At least six persons including two women were killed in separate incidents in different areas of the metropolis here on Monday. According to police and rescuers, a caretaker of a seminary was shot dead in Banaras Colony in the limits of Pirabad police station.
The incident took place in Banaras Colony near Mohammadi Mosque where Khalid Iqbal, 68, son of Mohammad Rasool, was targeted when he was on the way to the Madressah after Fajir prayers. He received five bullets and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities.
SHO Pervez Gujjar said the victim was caretaker of Madressah Ziauloom and was targeted when he was on the way to his home. He said the victim hailed from Swat and his family was of the view that he might have been murdered over personal ground. He said the victim was the father of two. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A bullet-riddled body of an old woman was found from the bushes located in Ali Mohammad Village in the limits of Gulshan Maymar police station. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained.
DSP Mukhtiar Khaskheli said the victim, who received three bullets on her chest and head and was murdered on early Monday, appeared to be Baloch. The body was shifted to ASH for post-mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A slaughtered body of youth stuffed in a gunny bag was found from Kakri Ground in the limits of Kharadar police station. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained.
Police said the victim received single bullet on his head, which was slaughtered as well. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. Police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state and initiated probe.
Yet another beheaded body of a woman was found from the bushes located near water filter plant in the precincts of Steel Town police station.
The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained while police found her body from bushes near water filter plant in Phase II Gulshan Hadeed.
Police said the victim appeared to be in her mid-thirties. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. Police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state.
A fisherman was gunned down by his cousin at Macchar Colony in the jurisdiction of Docks police station.
The victim 35-year-old Ibrahim alias Badshah son of Zomba Khan, a resident of Muree area Macchar Colony, was targeted by his cousins namely Shaukat and Liaquat when he was sitting outside his house.
Resultantly, he received fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot. After committing the crime the accused escaped from the scene. The body was shifted to CHK for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim was a fisherman and might have been murder over personal enmity. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Yet another youth was shot dead while other injured in Jumma Goth in the precincts of Al-Falah police station. The incident took place in Jumma Goth Malir where area people held a Jirga over some local issue. During the Jirga some of the jirga member exchanged hot words. Later, Munawar alias Munno and Shafiq pulled their weapons out and opened firing that left a 24-year-old Ayaz son of Moosa dead while another, Zeeshan alias Shani, 22, son of Sabir injured.
The body and injured were shifted to JPMC for medical treatment and legal formalities. Police said the victim Ayaz was a farmer. No case was registered till filing of this report.
