The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday sent to jail for seven days Tehsildar of Kasur, Azharuz Zaman for defying the order of a civil court. The Tehsildar had filed a petition in the LHC challenging show cause notice issued by a civil court for not implementing the court order.
In his petition, Zaman pleaded that he had implemented the civil court order but with a little delay. He requested the court to set aside the show cause notice in question. The LHC dismissed his petition and observed that defiance of court's orders was not acceptable and sent him to jail for seven days.
