Journalists here held demonstration and staged sit-in outside the SSP Office, here on Sunday, in protest against the incident of firing upon the car of a senior journalist. Holding placards and banners, the journalists condemned the attack and demanded arrest of the attackers and bringing them to book. Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said he has no enmity with anyone and is being assaulted for his professional work.
President Hyderabad Press Club, Jaffar Memon, General Secretary, Altaf Koti, senior journalists Ali Hassan, Lala Rehman Samo, Khalid Khokhar, Abdul Hafeez Abid and Shahid Shaikh, besides others, were present on the occasion.
The car of Mahesh Kumar, former president Hyderabad Press Club and editor of Daily Sindh, was fired upon by unknown miscreants on Saturday night outside the club. This was the second such assault on Kumar in the span of a few months.
