Barred from participating in election: PBC sets aside LBA decision

Punjab Bar Council Executive Committee has set aside a decision of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) election board chairman wherein Advocate Nasreen Ijaz was barred from participating in the association's election. The LBA election board had rejected nomination papers of Nasreen Ijaz on the grounds of having less professional experience under the rules.
Nasreen Ijaz challenged the decision by filing an appeal before PBC executive committee stating that she was enrolled as an advocate on January 01, 2005 and the election of the LBA was going to be held on January 14, 2012. She said before the election day her standing would be twelve days additional than the required experience.
