The Karachi Port handled 222,306 tonnes of cargo comprising 140,220 tonnes of import cargo and 82,086 tonnes of export cargo including 2,767 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 140,220 tonnes comprised of 53,154 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,539 tonne of general cargo; 24,227 tonnes of bulk cargo: 22,200 tonnes of coal; 2,027 tonnes of wheat and 56,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 82,086 tonnes comprised of 74,254 tonnes of containerised cargo; 300 tonnes of general cargo; 7,532 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,672 tonnes of rice and 5,860 tonnes of cement. Twelve ships namely Lara Rickmers, APL Chicago, Violetta, YM Enhancer, Kota Anggeric, OEL Trust, YM Fuzhou, Freedom, Alliance Beoumont, Galveston, Sharief Verve and Navig 8 Loucas with seven container ship, two vehicles carriers, one coal carrier, one tug ship and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz OEL Trust, Lindavia, Valerie Schulte, Hyundai Freedom, Alliance Beoumont, Freedom, Navig 8 Loucas and MT Lahore with four container ships, two vehicles carriers and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Lindavia, Valerie Schulte and Cathrina with two container ships and one cement carrier sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Hyundai Freedom and MT Lahore carrying one container ship and one oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz Glenda Melody, UACC Sound and UBC Cyprus carrying two mogas carriers and one cement carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while six vessels viz Santa Belina, President Folk, Wan Hai-602, Synnove Knutsen, Dawood Diamond and Id Tide carrying three container ships, one chemicals carrier, one ethanol ship and one coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 22,961 tonnes, comprising 15,611 tonnes of import cargo and 7,350 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,009 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 15,611 tonnes includes 143 tonnes of general cargo; 1,629 tonnes of chemicals and 13,839 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 7,350 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely MV Long Champ and MV Formation carrying chemicals and general cargo sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely CV Maersk Utha with containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of four vessels CV Maersk Utha, MV Formation, MT Pearl Bulker and MV Long Champ are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, canola seeds and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours. As many as five ships namely St. James Park, SC Guanzhou, MT Quetta, Fair Spirit and Hiba Al-Noor-B with chemicals, furnace oil, and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz St. James Park and Hiba Al-Noor-B carrying cement and chemicals are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Turminal (MW-4) and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
