Leaders of Muttahida Muslim League (MML), which met here on Tuesday, have expressed optimism for alliance among different factions of Muslim League ahead of general elections in the country. A meeting of leaders of MML was held here at the residence of Hamid Nasir Chattha.
The meeting discussed current political and economic situation and discussed various options to steer the country out of prevailing crises. It was also decided to mobilise public opinion against the present government for causing manifold serious problems in the country. It also expressed concern over shortage of gas and electricity that is leading towards closure of industry apart from rendering labour-force jobless.
The participants were unanimous on that the solution of current problems posed to the country lies in holding general elections in the country. They also stressed the need for activating the vote bank of Muslim League.
After the meeting, Humayun Akhter Khan told reporters that Tuesday's meeting expressed serious concern over the prevailing political and economic situation in the country and emphasised the need for unity among different factions of Muslim League. He expressed optimism that different factions of Muslim League would form an alliance ahead of general elections in the country and efforts in this regard are underway.
He said that MML possesses big vote bank in the country and the need of the hour is to forge unity in different factions of Muslim League. He said he along-with other leaders of MML are making sincere efforts for unity of different factions of Muslim League and they would soon succeed in their efforts.
On the occasion, Ijazul Haq that they made contacts with Nawaz Sharif and fruitful discussions were going on. To a query, he said no contact has so far been made with Q-League in the efforts aimed at forming alliance among different factions of Muslim League.
