By-elections on the seat vacated by Dr Zulfiqar Mirza (PS- 57 Badin) would be held on February 15, announced ECP on Tuesday. According to a notification, the nomination papers could be filed on 12-1-12 and 13-1-12. Scrutiny of nomination papers would be conducted on 16-1-12 and 17-1-12. Last date of filing of appeals has been fixed till 19-1-12 while 23-1-12 is fixed as last date for deciding appeals.
According to the schedule candidates could withdraw their nomination papers till 24-1-12. Revised lists would be published on 25-1-12. The ECP has appointed Joint Provincial Election Commission Sindh as district returning officer, Deputy Election Commissioner Hyderabad as Returning Officer and Assistant Election Commissioner, Badin and Deputy District (Revenue) Tando Bago, District Badin as Assistant Returning Officer.
