Pakistan team's batsman, Umer Akmal has said that batting fast was in his nature but he will endeavour to overcome this tendency to benefit the team in certain situations during Pak-England series in United Arab Emirates.
"A fast approach in batting is a part of my nature and the team management did not ask me to drop this trend during camp training and I think it is time to concentrate more on batting to cope with a demanding situation during test matches against England to lift the performance of the team," he told whlle talking to newsmen on Thursday at Gadaffi stadium.
He said he is fully composed to put in effort to improve his batting and to justify his inclusion in Pakistan team's test squad. "Consistency is the key to success and my aim is bat with sheer concentration to achieve my ultimate goal of having a permanent place in the team ",he said.
Umer Akmal said he usually bats at number six and at that position an innings of fifty to sixty runs can boost the teams score and if he is elevated in the batting he can aim high to score a century. He said Pak team is having best batsman and bowlers, both pacers and spinners and all the players are in right frame of mind to give tough time to English side.
Umer Akmal said the team needs a batting coach to overcome batting flaws and better the technique of the players. To a question, he said, to perform in a crunch situation has its own joy but at the same time it is the test of skills and technique of a particular batsman.
