Memo issue: rulers driving country towards clash of institutions: Jamaat-i-Islami
Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch said that the memo was not a mere piece of paper, it was a document of the rulers' betrayal against national solidarity. He said that rulers were committing blunders one after the other on the memo issue and driving the country towards clash of institutions only to hide their crimes.
However, he said, the corrupt and incompetent rulers won't succeed in their designs to become political martyrs and they would have to pay for their crimes spread over the last four years. Liaqat Baloch said that the entire nation was shocked over the memo issue. The mastermind of the document had openly invited US intervention in the country's security matters and the civil leadership was conspiring to secure its evil interests through a secret pact with Washington.
The memo gave a guarantee to eliminate Pakistan's independent and military role and the completion of the US agenda, which was tantamount to treachery against the nation and the country. All these facts needed a thorough enquiry through the judicial commission, he added.
