The elections of Pakistan Olympic Association are scheduled to be held in February and different candidates have started their campaign to muster support of different sports organisations in this regard.
Sitting President of Pakistan Olympic Association, Lieutenant General Syed Arif Hasan (Retd), President of Pakistan Athletic Federation, Major General Mohammad Akram Sahi (Retd) and sitting President of Pakistan Hockey Federation, Qasim Zia have so far emerged as strong contenders for the office of president POA. Qasim Zia has started his election campaign and he has so far mustered support of Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, Pakistan Tug of War Federation and Pakistan Kabaddi Federation.
