The National Assembly on Thursday expressed deep sorrow on the death of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) Chief Pir Sahib Pagara and PPP Parliamentarian Mian Azeem Khan Daultana, paid tributes and offered fateha for eternal peace to their souls.
Speaking in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed deep sorrow on the deaths of Pir Pagara and Azeem Daultana and paid rich tributes to services rendered by them. He said that Pir Sahib Pagara was asset for the country and described his death as a big blow to the nation. He said that Pir Sahib Pagara played an important role for the unity of Pakistan.
He said that Pir Sahib Pagara did commendable job for the federation and played an important role to keep together the locals and settlers. While paying tributes to Mian Azeem Daultana, the Prime Minister said that the death of Daultan is a big loss for the Parliament and the nation.
Khawaja Asif of PML-N said while paying tribute to Pir Pagara that his death is a great loss not only for his family but also for the entire country. He said that Daultana is young parliamentarian and the way he participated in the House proceedings during the past three to four years was commendable. Riaz Hussain Pirzada of PML-Q said Pir Sahib Pagara always played a constructive role in country and rescued politics adding that his services for the country would be remembered forever.
He said Azeem Daultana was a well-groomed son of his parents and his services for the country would be long remembered. Chief of JUI-F Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said the entire nation is sad at the demise of Pir Sahib Pagara. He said the late Pagara was one of the top political leaders of country and vacuum created by his death would never be filled. He said Daultana was a young parliamentarian and he shared the grief of his family.
Chief of ANP Asfand Yar Wali said he has no words to pay tributes to late Pir Pagara. He termed his demise the passing away of last generation of state men. MQMs Deputy Parliamentary Leader Haidar Abbas Rizvi and FATA member also paid tribute to Pir Pagara and Azeem Daultan. Later, the House was adjourned to meet again on Friday morning.
