Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that terrorists targeting police and security forces will not affect their commitment rather it will further boost their resolve, saying they are proud of them. Talking to media after offering funeral prayers of two police personnel on the lawn of Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines here Friday, he said that more than effective actions would be taken against groups involved in terrorist activities.
Speaker Provincial Assembly Kiramatullah Chagarmatti, Senior Provincial Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastageer, IGP Akbar Khan Hoti, police higher ups, jawans and relatives of deceased were also participated in the funeral prayers. The police personnel embraced martyrdom in result of an attack on police post.
A contingent of police presented the guard of honour while the Chief Minister along with other notable personalities laid floral wreaths on coffins of the deceased on the occasion. He also conveyed condolences on the deaths of police personnel to their relatives and expressed solidarity. The Chief Minister said that the government and the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will not forget the sacrifices of martyrs. Joint prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed souls and patience to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
Responding queries, the Chief Minister condemned last night incident in strong words and expressed heartfelt grief over the loss of precious lives. He said that some of hideouts of terrorists have been destroyed in result of joint operation of police and FC and the terrorists in reaction, targeted the police post last night, adding the police and FC personnel fought bravely.
He said that one FC and two police personnel embraced martyrdom and seven terrorists were killed including two blasts skilled commanders. He said that this incident depicted that the police and FC were fully active for counteracting terrorists, added, unfortunately, our people were kidnapped and deprived of their weapons earlier in such incidents.
He paid tributes to dutifulness of police force and martyrs on behalf of government and the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He said that terrorists' attacks on FC and police aimed at weakening their spirits, but, their evil agenda will fail and police and FC spirits enhanced further. He said that further effective actions against terrorists groups will continue. Meanwhile, giving cheques of financial assistance to the children of former chairman, District Zakat Committee, Bannu, the Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that the role and sacrifices of ANP workers in the struggle for elimination of terrorism are known to all.
