A man was shot dead while other injured near UP Moor in the jurisdiction of New Karachi police station. The incident took place on early Friday, where 50-year-old Syed Mushtaq Hussain Zaidi son of Riyaz Hussain Zaidi was targeted near UP Moor North Karachi sector 11 when he was going to somewhere along with his friend Kamran, son of Abdul Karim in his car.
Resultantly, Mushtaq Hussain Zaidi received fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot while his friend Kamran also sustained bullet injuries. After committing the crime, the culprits managed to flee from the scene. Police said the victim, who was the resident of Block 12, F. B. Area, was a sympathiser of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). They said the victim used to run a car showroom at North Karachi and might have been killed over sectarian ground.
Moreover, they said he was the father of two and at the time of the incident he was on the way to home from work. Later his funeral process was offered at Shuhda Karbala Imam Bargah Ancholi where angry people staged protest over the incident and blocked Sharea Pakistan for all sorts of traffic. Later he was buried in Wadi Hussain Graveyard. No case was registered till filing of this report.
