Administrator, Fatimid Foundation, Colonel Afzal Hassan Khan (Retd) said that under the 18th Constitutional Amendment direct payments of donations to welfare organisations have been stopped resulting in financial problems.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of the advisory board of the foundation. Beside, Trustee Dr. Tufail Mohammad Khan and members of advisory board, Haji Rashid Ahmad of Rotary Club, Ghayyur Ahmad Sethi, Ahmad Shukaib Sahibzada and former secretary health Dr. Ihsan-ul-Haq were present in the meeting.
The Administrator, Afzal Hassan Khan said that the number of under-treatment patients in Fatimid Foundation is many-fold higher than other blood transfusion centres. He said that the centre is providing free medical facilities to thousands of registered patients. He said that with the passage of time the number of patients is on rise resulting in creating financial crisis for the centre. He expressed the fear that in case of failure in taking measures on priority basis it will threaten the lives of the patients.
Colonel Afzal Hassan Khan further said that the income of the centre had declined as compared to increase in the expenditures while the payments of donations have also registered unprecedented decrease. He said that under 18th Constitutional Amendment the payments of funds under head of donations to provinces Federal Government had been stopped, which is directly affecting the provision of health facilities to the patients. The Administrator also told details regarding accidents of the ambulance in Kohat Tunnel to the advisory members.
The meeting unanimously decided to hold meeting with Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, to brief him regarding problems faced by the patients.
On this occasion, Ghayyur Ahmad Sethi of Rotary Club assured the repairing of the damaged ambulance and provision of new vehicle equipped with all modern facilities to Fatimid Foundation.
