Increasing encroachment in Rawalpindi bazaar irks citizens

The encroachments in several cantonment areas including Saddar Bazaar are on the rise as authorities of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board seem unable to remove these.
Encroachments in different areas of RCB including Saddar Bazaar, Tench Bhatta, Chungi no. 22 and other areas have become a big problem not only for motorist, but also for the residents of these areas, while concerned authorities are taking no action in this regard. One can observe the traffic jams in many cantonment areas because of these encroachments.
Residents told APP that encroachments are the main reason behind traffic jams, as these have occupied almost half of the road. Not only the motorists, but pedestrians also are facing lots of problems because of the encroachments. "Concerned authorities should play their effective role to remove encroachment from the roads for smooth flow of traffic," they urged.
