Describing the Khanpur bomb blast as a national tragedy, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch said on Monday that those who had failed to protect the lives and properties of the people, have no right to remain in power.
Talking to different delegations at a local party office on Monday, he said that if the massacre in Karachi on May 12th, Ashura blast besides other bomb blasts at mosques and Imam Bargahs all over the country had been probed and the criminals exposed, the country could have saved from recurring bloodshed of the innocent citizens.
Baloch said according to police, the Khanpur blast occurred due to transformer explosion, whereas in fact it was a terrorist activity. He said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should give an explanation to the people that why Police and other agencies had failed to discharge their duties. He said the forces, which were trying to create sectarian hatred wanted to destabilise the country and prove it a failed state.
