Highlighting the rich tourism potential, cultural values and diversity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the world, Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in five-day international tourism trade fair in Madrid, Spain. To promoting Gandhara arts, trekking, culture, adventure tourism and heritage through brochures and pamphlets about Chitral, Swat, Peshawar, Kaghan and Hazara valleys of KP, TCKP set-up different stall at Feria Internacional de Turismo (Fitur) fair.
Tourists from different countries took keen interest in rich diversity and culture of the region. The organisers provided information and necessary guidance to a large number of potential tourists and visitors. Officials of TCKP said the participation played an important role in promoting soft image of KP and fighting negative propaganda against it at the international level.
They further said to support United Nation World Tourism Organisation efforts to promote tourism in member countries, the five-day Fitur, is held every year in Madrid, UNWTO headquarters. It merits mentioning here that Pakistan was a regular participant in this mega event till 2000 but its participation later disrupted due to unknown reasons, they maintained. However, TCKP took another bold initiative and established stall at the fair to represent and promote Pakistan tourism in general and KP tourism in particular.
