Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe January 26, the Indian Republic Day, as Black Day to remind the international community that India's continued denial of Kashmiris' right of self-determination is contrary to its claim of being a democratic republic.
The day will be marked with complete shutdown in the occupied territory. The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued from New Delhi, said that India had no moral justification to celebrate its Republic Day as it had forcibly in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, KMS reported.
The veteran leader appealed to the United Nations to probe the massacres of Gawkadal, Handwara and Kupwara through a war crime tribunal. Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview in New Delhi urged pro-India parties of occupied Kashmir to resign from power politics as Indian army was virtually ruling Jammu and Kashmir. The Mirwaiz also called upon puppet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to seek apology for having prank with the people in the name of revocation of the black law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
