Chief Editor daily Nawa-i-Waqt Majid Nizami has said that only courts could save Pakistan. He also said that Jihad was a must for the freedom of Kashmir. India wanted to convert Pakistan to a desert due to its water aggression, and its activity could only be countered with Jihad.
He was addressing the seminar jointly organised by Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) and Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust here on Thursday. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran was the chief guest while renowned journalist and Chief Editor daily Nawa-i-Waqt Majid Nizami chaired the seminar. Acting Director ICS Dr Afirah Hamid Ali, Chairman Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust Khalid Mahmood, Secretary Raja Asad Ali Khan, President Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Chair Dr Zahid Munir Amir, Mowahid Hussain Shah, faculty members and a large number of students also attended the seminar.
Majid Nizami said Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was an unmatchable journalist. He said journalism in Pakistan had faced toughed times during the tenure of dictators. We would carry out the mission of speaking truth before barbaric rulers till death. On this occasion Majid Nizami gifted a copy of his research thesis "Press in Pakistan," which he did when he was student of Political Science at PU, to the ICS on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Dr Mujahid Kamran said war was indispensable in the world and escape was not possible. He said only the nation who prepared themselves for confrontation had been successful. He said that knowledge and power were must for respectable survival in the world and knowledge was the only way to gain power. He said a sea of knowledge and power was reflected in the writings of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan, which was due to his truth. He said if students focused, they would know what the powers they had.
Khalid Mahmood said there was look of love with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the message of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan. One of his most important messages is that "there was no need to fear anybody except Allah." He raised voice against British imperialism and helped Turks. Mowahid Hussain Shah said Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had pointed out the threat of the minutes of provincialism in his speech 64 years back, which is being discussed now-a-days. He said defeated-mentality was the biggest danger for youth today. There was need for the youth to know and utilise their capabilities. They should raise their voice at every platform and write letters to the politicians.
