Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Science and Information Technology, Mohammad Ayub Khan has said that the provincial government has approved the establishment of IT Centres in Deans Street, Peshawar and Muqqadus Tower, Abbottabad on which work will start shortly. He was addressing a ceremony held in connections with the death anniversary of the founder of ANP, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan in Battagram.
Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs, Hajj and Auqaf, Nimroz Khan, former provincial minister, Yousuf Khan Tarand, member provincial assembly, Taj Mohammad Khan Tarand and district president, ANP, Attaullah Khan Tarand also addressed the function and highlighted the services of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan.
He said that the provincial minister is taking keen interest in the promotion and development of science and information technology. He said that the government is seeking the co-operation of foreign experts and companies for the promotion of information technology in the province.
The minister for science and information technology said that the students would be imparted training and opportunities in information technology.
He said that the government has achieved several achievements on various fronts including provincial autonomy, NFC Award and devolution of 10 ministries to the provinces.
The provincial minister said that the wave of terrorism and lawlessness were the results of the wrong policies of the military dictator, Pervez Musharraf, saying the government with the joint efforts of Pakistan army, police and general public faced the challenge and succeeded in bringing peace.
He said that terrorists are the enemies of humanity and they killed our innocent children, destroyed worship places, schools and public installations. They have challenged the writ of the state, but with the grace of Allah Almighty it has been controlled. He said that hundreds of ANP workers, officers and jawans of the law-enforcement agencies sacrificed their lives in that struggle for the establishment of peace.
