The exchange rates on the currency market moved in interbank in a narrow range on Tuesday, dealers said. The rupee was slightly low as it shed five-paisa for buying and four-paisa for selling.
INTERBANK MARKET: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee lost 20-paisa for buying at 90.35 and 35-paisa for selling at 90.55. The Euro continue to rise by gain Rs 1.23 both for buying and selling at 117.44 and 117.94, respectively.
REUTERS REPORTS: On second day of Asian trade euro eased against major currencies, as investors watched events in debt-riddled Europe, dealers said. The euro bought $1.3002 and 100.16 yen in Asian afternoon trade, down from $1.3027 and 100.31 yen in New York late Monday. The dollar firmed to 77.03 yen from 76.99 yen.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee recovered its day earlier loss and gained 10-paisa against the greenback in the local currency market on Tuesday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar failed to maintain its position and remained under pressure in the absence of buying support. At the end of trading, the dollar was closed lower at Rs 90.20 and Rs 90.60 against the overnight closing of Rs 90.30 and Rs 90.70 on buying and selling sides, respectively.
The rupee-pound sterling parity remained unchanged amid low trading activity in the open market. The pound was purchased and sold at the Monday's closing of Rs 140.00 and Rs 140.80, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 89.00 (buying) and Rs 89.20 (selling) against the last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 89.00 (buying) and Rs 89.20 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 138.00 (buying) and Rs 138.90 (selling) against the last rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 138.00 (buying) and Rs 138.90 (selling).
