A high alert has been sounded in Srinagar while the Indian police and paramilitary personnel have increased their vigil and patrolling to hold official functions of Indian Republic Day on January 26 in the occupied territory. Indian policemen and paramilitary CRPF troopers have been deployed and checkpoints have been established in every nook and corner of the city and other major towns of the valley, Kashmir Media Service reported.
They are conducting random crackdowns in Srinagar and other major towns and were screening all the passengers and private vehicles. The bikers moving around the city were also being thoroughly frisked by the Indian armed men.
