Federal Minister National Heritage & Integration Samina Khalid Ghurki has advised Urdu Science Board (USB) to provide its books to the libraries of all government educational institutions. Presiding over a meeting of USB, the minister appreciated the services of the Board for promotion of science in Urdu language in the country and advised the USB to contact the technical institutions for publication of technical books in the national language.
The government would provide assistance for this purpose, she added. The minister assured that the government would make every effort for the development and promotion of the Urdu language. She also discussed the service structure and other problems faced by the employees of the Board.
Director General USB Dr Abdul Ghafoor Rashid gave a detailed briefing to the minister about the ongoing and future projects of the Board in the meeting, which was attended by senior officers and regional heads of the institution. It may be added that Urdu Science Board (USB) is working on various publishing projects with the co-operation of other departments to promote Urdu based knowledge in science, social, medical and technical subject. It has published books on more than 25 different disciplines including dictionary and encyclopedia to provide quality science books in national language to the students and common people.
