The team leader, David Laurence Massie and Deputy Leader, Mrs Farah Waters along with other members of the team called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar here at Governor's House on Thursday. After detailed discussion it was agreed upon that both the sides will hold more meetings to explore the areas of investment and prepare promising projects.

Earlier, while welcoming UK Investor's Team, the governor said that it was a candid policy of the Government to provide incentives, facilities and protection to domestic and foreign investors whosoever takes interest to invest in FATA. "Our tribal areas have plenty of investment opportunities and we will not only welcome the potential investors but also facilitate them", the Governor said adding that the situation was becoming conducing for taking socio-economic initiatives in tribal areas.
He said that the region had lagged behind in development for many years and now was the time to develop the area and remove the deprivation of the people of Fata. The Governor thanked the visiting team for taking interest in Fata development and assured them foolproof security and all out co-operation in this regard. He said that the UK investors should sit down with officials of Fata Secretariat and FDA to identify the areas and come up with specific projects for implementation.
Additional Chief Secretary Fata and Chief Executive FDA informed the visiting delegation about the prospects of investment in different promising sectors in Fata including mineral and hydle power. They said that in these two major areas, collaboration and co-operation could be explored.
Fata Secretariat and FDA have worked out the basic data and also prepared feasibility of most of the projects whereas a Marble City in Mohmand Agency is also being established, offering good investment opportunities. High quality gemstones are mined in Bajaur and Mohmand Agencies and coal is available in FR Kohat for which polishing units and washing units respectively could be established. The meeting decided to hold more consultations between the UK investor's team and Fata Secretariat and FDA to explore the possibility of investment and identification of areas and projects.
