Zainab's suspected murderer sent on 14 days remand
An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday gave Imran Ali, the key suspect of seven-year-old Zainab, and was given a physical remand of 14 days in which the police is expected to further investigate his involvement in similar rape incidents.
The suspect Imran will be produced before the court again on February 8.
According to local media reports, the suspect confessed to District and Sessions Judge Sajjad and when the judge asked the man in the CCTV footage had beard, the investigation officer replied that the suspect had confessed to shaving off his beard.
The judge was also informed of Imran being involved in eight other incidents that had occurred in Kasur over the past several months. The suspect used to used to lure the girls by giving them sweets or money.
Murder case: Zainab’s neighbour arrested after DNA matches
Imran ali was arrested on January 23 when the DNA of his matched with samples taken from Zainab’s body.
The minor girl was raped and murdered after being abducted on January 4. Her body was found at a garbage dump site, five days after she went missing.
