Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi claimed on Friday that both the parties in the memo case have silenced after the 'intervention of a superpower'. Addressing a news conference here Friday, Hashmi said that none of the parties have adopted a certain stance on superpower's pressure. "But it is ours as well as public's desire to know about the facts of memo issue. People should know about the liars," he maintained.
Answering a query on the series of heart patients' deaths allegedly by a medicine, he said that at-least 88 precious lives had so far been lost in the province but nobody bothered to accept the responsibility. "We have no tradition of accepting responsibility of such incidents. If not from chief minister office, Shahbaz Sharif should have at least resigned from health ministry," he demanded. He regretted that patients were still dying but no concrete step was so far taken by the provincial government to contain the issue.
To another question, Hashmi strongly dispelled the impression that he had any differences with his old political rival Shah Mahmood Qureshi at PTI platform. "And by the way it's high time that we must shun all of our differences and work for the progress and prosperity of the country," he added. Replying a question on drone attacks, he said that the stance of PTI on this issue was quite clear since day one that these attacks were a naked aggression against sovereignty of the country. "That's why Imran Khan has been staging sit in to press the government to stop Nato supply," he added. About new provinces, Javed Hashmi said that the PTI was in favour of new units in the country. "But we're strongly opposed to creation of new provinces on lingual grounds. We support new provinces on administrative basis," he added.
