Spot basis bids for corn and soyabeans were steady to narrowly mixed around the US Midwest on Thursday following a futures rally and subsequent spike in farmer sales of each commodity, grain merchants said. Corn bids eased 2 cents at a processor in Decatur, Illinois, and were largely unchanged at other interior processors, elevators and ethanol plants.
Soya bids firmed 2 cents at an elevator in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and gained 1 cent at an Iowa terminal along the Mississippi River.
