Zubair Motiwala, Chairman of Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), has said that business deals worth Rs 1 billion have been materialised in the Livestock, Dairy, Fisheries and Agriculture (LDFA-2012) Exhibition.
Talking to Business Recorder after concluding session of LDFA-2012, he said the exhibition was aimed at promoting agrarian economy besides creating job opportunities for the masses. Moreover, he said, the authorities concerned could explore true potential of Sindh through this sort of exhibitions. He said the business deals worth Rs1 billion have been finalised and most of the orders were placed, especially in agriculture and fisheries sectors. He further said that investors from UK, Italy and Czech Republic were also keen to invest in these sectors.
The LDFA-2012 was divided into two separate streams, running concurrently allowing seminar where various expert speakers shared their presentations, research results, in-depth analysis and future plans. The major attraction of the exhibition were horse & cattle show, birds show, ornamental fish exhibition, dog & pet show, ostrich exhibition, camel dancing and flower show, which were arranged on the sidelines of the main exhibition to promote local culture and provide positive entertainment to the people of Karachi. Over 0.15 million visitors attended the exhibition while the chief guest, Zubair Motiwala, gave away trophies and certificates to the best performers in various activities at the end of the exhibition.
