Punjab Minister for Auqaf, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi has said that present government is paying special attention to looking-after shrines of saints provision of good facilities to the devotees. He said that department is spending money received from shrines on the welfare of deserving people and welfare of devotees. He expressed these views while inaugurating celebrations of 388th annual urs of sufi saint Hazrat Mian Meer (R.H), here on Tuesday.
The minister told that strict security arrangements comprising 300 security personals have been made and no one would be allowed to enter the shrine without proper checking. He said ulema and 'mashaikh' should create tolerance among the masses by promoting teachings of saints in the society. In the present situation, brotherhood could be maintained among various segments of the society by promoting teachings of saints, he added.
On the occasion, the minister laid floral wreath at the mausoleum of the saint and offered Du'aa for the country and Muslim Ummah. Director General, Director Administration and Manager Auqaf besides ulema and a large number of people were present on the occasion. The celebrations will continue till 1st February 2012.
