Taiwan stocks rose 2.11 percent to a six-month closing high on Wednesday, joining regional bourses in gains, with HTC rebounding from the previous day's losses, helped by its announcement of a share buyback. The main TAIEX index ended up 162.47 points at 7,869.91, a level not seen since early August. HTC was up by its daily limit allowed of 7 percent. Acer jumped 2.12 percent. The Taiwan dollar rose by T$0.059 to trade at T$29.511.
Foreign investors were net buyers on Tuesday, bringing their total buying to T$15.7 billion this month.
