The Karachi Port handled 101,470 tonnes of cargo comprising 74,811 tonnes of import cargo and 26,659 tonnes of export cargo including 2,980 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 74,811 tonnes comprised of 21,194 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,109 tonnes of general cargo; 9,358 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,361 tonnes of wheat; 6,997 tonnes of rock phosphate and 39,150 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,659 tonnes comprised of 9,095 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2 tonnes of general cargo; 14,362 tonnes of bulk cargo: 612 tonnes of cement; 8,288 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 5,462 tonnes of rice and 3,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Six ships namely Santa Balbina, Caribbean Sea, Zuma, Emirates Star, Breeze Island and Kong Que Song with two container ships, two oil tankers and two general cargo ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz UASC Shuwaikh, Cap Graham and Lodestar Genesis with two container ships and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely UASC Shuwaikh, Cap Graham, UBC Cyprus and Dl Clover with two container ships, one oil tanker and one ethanol ship respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while two ships namely Lodestar Genesis and Nadeem with one oil tanker and one cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz YM Fuzhou, Abtin-1, Maribel and Red Fin with two container ships, one mogas ship and one coal carrier respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while eight vessels viz APL Sokhna, Yaran, Emirates Wasl, Lt Genova, Kota Akbar, APL Brisbane, Kei and MT Quetta with six container ships, one chemicals carrier and one crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 50,825 tonnes, comprising 26,966 tonnes of import cargo and 23,859 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,540 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 26,966 tonnes includes 12,035 tonnes of canola seeds and 14,931 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,859 tonnes includes 2,379 tonnes of rice; 4,071 tonnes of cement and 17,409 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two container ships namely CV ACX Margurite and CV CGM Wagner sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, on Thursday morning, while another ship namely MV Al-Barella is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of five CV CV ACX Margurite, CV CGM Wagner, Florida-II, MV Al-Barella and MV Coronado are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice and canola seeds respectively during last 24 hours. As many as five ships namely Maersk Ngami, Nicoline Maersk, Ginga Falcon, Estia and Fair Spirit with containers, edible oil, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels v Maersk Ngami and Nicoline Maersk with containers are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Thursday.
