Murder of Domki's wife, daughter: Supreme Court directs IG Sindh to arrest killers by February 24

The Supreme Court on Friday issued directives to Inspector General of Sindh Police to arrest the murderers of Balochistan MPA Mir Bakhtiar Domki's wife and daughter by February 24. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the suo motu case on the killings. IG Sindh Mustaq Shah and Advocate General Sindh Fateh Malik appeared before the court.
IG Sindh submitted progress report on the case and apprised the court that two police officials Shabir Sheikh and Khadam Rind were deputed to probe the matter. The chief justice expressed dissatisfaction on the report, saying the bench should be informed about progress in the case instead of production of English written report.
"This is a serious matter - which have sever repercussions as Balochistan is already boiling. The people are being assassinated without fear and public is not being provided protection of life and property in Karachi," the CJP remarked. The court directed the IGP Sindh during previous hearing of the case to arrest the assassin by February 10 but no progress was made so far.
The IGP sought more time upon which the court directed him to arrest the killers at any cost and present them before the court on next date of hearing. Domki's wife, daughter and driver were gunned down on early morning of January 31 near Gizri Bridge in Karachi's upscale Defence Housing Authority residential area. The bench adjourned the hearing till February 24.
