Balochistan unrest: government urged to lodge protest against US interference
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan has called upon the government to lodge strong protest over US Congress meeting on Balochistan saying this was interference in the internal affairs of the country and an attempt to destabilise it. Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora here, he said the Foreign Office notice of the matter was not enough and the situation called for a strong protest.
He said US Congress meeting had also discussed strengthening the US-India relations and building India a mini super power but the rulers in Islamabad were least bothered about that. Syed Munawwar Hasan blasted the double standards of the rulers allowing Nato supplies through airspace and said this was worst form of slavery and betraying the nation.
He said the rulers were keeping the nation in the dark but the US envoy had exposed them. He said the Baloch people could not be cooled down as long as Pervez Musharraf was not arrested and tried under the law. A mere relief package could not satisfy the Baloch, he added.
He said India was destabilising Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa from Afghanistan and distributing arms and money to achieve its nefarious designs. He further said that the government and the opposition were chips of the same bloc and had common interests and objectives as was manifest by the two joining together on the 20th constitutional amendment.
Syed Munawwar Hasan said that JI had a comprehensive welfare programme as announced in its manifesto, adding that JI was striving for propagation of Islamic teachings and a peaceful revolution. He said that routine elections in the country only brought to power hereditary politicians, thieves and dacoits and the masses did not get any relief. The people would have to realise the situation and vote for the JI for a real change, he added.
