People belonging to various walks of life have hailed the hectic efforts of Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan for banishing the backwardness from ignored villages and to provide basic facilities to the dwellers on their doorstep in NA-111 which was politically ignored for the past 63 years.
Record development projects pertaining to people's welfare have been accomplished costing billions of Rupees during past four years in NA-111. The projects include provision of Sui gas, electricity and the construction of link-roads, pavement of kutcha passages and streets and drains.
The concept of this programme is to change the life style of the downtrodden people and to eliminate the discrimination of rural and urban areas as well as to bring the politically neglected for 63 years at par with the developed areas of Sialkot district. In 197 villages Sui gas projects have been accomplished while gas pipelines have also been laid in 74 villages and gas pipeline would be laid in over 100 villages shortly.
Apart from this, special attention under the programme is also accorded on the provision of modern transportation facilities especially to the women folk who are working in factories and girl students studying in different educational institutions of Sialkot and six buses are plying between NA-111 to Sialkot.
Expressing their view former lady councillors Salma Bibi and Kaniz Bibi said that it was the result of hectic efforts and commitment of Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan that people are availing all modern facilities like sui gas, electricity, roads, etc, at village level in NA-111.
She is the lady with a vision, a true patriot whose unfaltering efforts have resulted in bringing drastic changes in rural life-style and uplifting of the backward areas of NA-111, they said. They further told that Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan who had successfully banished the politics of revenge and "Thana Culture" in her constituency and restored the confidence of the suppressed people.
