Indian Minister for Commerce, Industry and Textile, Anand Sharma, along with a 100-member large contingent of businessmen, will cross Wagha border on February 13 for a three-day visit. The Indian Commerce Minister, for the first time in last three decades, will be visiting Pakistan and attending an interactive session with Pakistani businessmen organised by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
The Indian delegation will also visit Karachi and Islamabad during its stay in Pakistan. It is generally believed by the business community that bilateral trade could be raised to dollars 10 billion from present levels of three billion dollars if trade was channelised into direct exchanges between the countries. At present, both Pakistan and India''s trade with each other amounts to less than one percent of their share of global trade.
