After successful passage of 20th Constitutional Amendment, 2012 from the National Assembly, the government has called Senate session tomorrow (Friday) to pass the bill from upper house of Parliament. Sources said the decision was taken following a consultation between Chairman Senate Farooq H Naek and leader of opposition in Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri on Wednesday.
Chairman Senate has held discussion with the parliamentary leaders of all the political parties in order to get the bill passed from the house unanimously like National Assembly. Meanwhile, talking to journalists after meeting with Naek, Haidri condemned reopening of Nato supply route via Pakistan to Afghanistan, which was closed following an air strike on Pakistan soldiers at Salalah check post.
He said that the decision was taken without taking the parliament into consideration, which is tantamount to breach the supremacy of parliament and his party will announce its future strategy within a couple of days. "We've been miserably failed to understand what is the problem with the government...on one hand it talks of strengthening the parliament, while on the other it takes such decisions, which is not a good omen at all", he added.
