A team of top international plastic surgeons, ENT specialists and senior doctors will examine patients of cleft lip and cleft palate here on Saturday (today). The team will examine and register the patients for free surgeries at House 7, Street 13, Sector F-8/3, Phone (051) 2251275 from 9.00 am to onwards.
The surgeries of these patients will be performed free of cost for six days at the 29th camp, at Pakistan Cleft Lip and Palate Association's (PCLAPA) dedicated Bashir Hospital, Railway Road, Gujrat between February 19 to 24. The treatment, medicines, hospitalisation, stay and food will also be provided absolutely free to the patients by PCLAPA as it is doing since 1996, it was announced here on Friday.
Dr Ijaz Bashir, Secretary General of PCLAPA, said so far, 2,405 children were operated upon with 100 percent success and completely cured. Over 11,250 children were examined. The PCLAPA operates as a registered charitable institution and is funded by purely private donations, and contributions from 'Zakat' and 'Sadaqaat' mainly from its own members. Patients, in advance of the surgery, are registered with Dr Ijaz Bashir, at Bashir Hospital, Railway Road, Gujrat.
