The Faisalabad Development Trust (FDT) have paid the fees of 193 most deserving and under-privileged Students of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), amounting to Rs 3.1million who were selected for grant of financial help by a 3-Member Scrutiny Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor. The Committee had received 302 applications from the University students for financial assistance but the Committee declared 193 students eligible for this financial help.
Shaiq Jawed, Vice-Chairman, FDT, today handed-over a Cheque of this amount to Vice-Chancellor, Agrivarsity, through Divisional Commissioner, at a Special Ceremony held at University Hall. Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan and Divisional Commissioner Syed Tahir Hussain appreciated the concern of Faisalabad Development Trust for Monetary Help to needy students of the University and said that this Financial Help will go a long way to build careers of so many under-privileged Students.
Vice-Chancellor informed the Meeting that the University is also signing a MoU with Faisalabad Development Trust to provide quality schooling up to 500 Students from Class 1st to 10th and the Trust will pay Rs 1,000 per student to University while the UAF will provide a building to start this High School and provide teaching skill by engaging its own students as part-time Assistant Teachers in this School to impart quality education of International Standard to the students.
