Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) rescued a fishing boat "Shan-e-Mustafa" along with 25 fishermen on-board which was stationary in water since last five days. According to a statement issued by PMSA here on Sunday, it received a message regarding a fishing boat Shan-e-Mustafa at 1:25 pm on February 19, 2012.
According to information, the boat along with 25 fishermen on-board was stranded due to defective engine near Basol, approximately 23 nautical miles South West of Ormara. The boat got slow flooding and the 25-member crew was short of food and water.
After receiving the information, the HQ PMSA immediately tasked PMSS Barkat to proceed to the boat and extend all possible assistance. PMSS Barkat provided food, water and medical assistance to the crew on-board "Shan-e-Mustafa." PMSS Barkat took the boat in tow till Ormara and handed it over to its owner, since it was not possible for the boat to sail on its over propulsion.
