The three main parliamentary parties in the Punjab Assembly have filed separate resolutions in the Assembly to condemn the resolution on Balochistan moved in the US Congress..
The resolution, submitted in the Assembly Secretariat by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's MPA Dr Zamrud Yasmeen Rana, says that a clarification issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad over the motion, tabled by US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, is insufficient and demanded that US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter should be summoned to the house for an explanation.
The resolution urges the Punjab Assembly to recommend the federal government to take the Baloch people into confidence and immediately address their grievances. The resolution states that the US resolution is an irrelevant intervention in Pakistan's internal affairs. It also recommends that the federal government takes up the Kashmir issue more effectively and convince the US Congress to raise its voice against Indian brutalities in the held Kashmir valley.
Another resolution, filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid's Parliamentary Leader Chaudhry Zaheeruddin termed the American motion as a conspiracy against Pakistan's territorial integrity. It says that the resolution endangers Pakistan's sovereignty and is an open violation of international laws. The resolution also questions the US' silence over the Kashmir issue.
Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmad, Pakistan Peoples Party's Parliamentary leader Major Zulfikqar Gondal (Retd) and Deputy Parliamentary Leader Shaukat Basra also submitted a resolution over the issue. The resolution said that the US Congressman's resolution was not only a gross violation of Pakistan sovereignty and blatant intervention in Pakistan's internal affairs but also against UN Charter.
Expressing full solidarity with the Baloch people, the resolution gave a clear message to the United States that the Pakistani nation stands united and ready to make any sacrifice for the solidarity and integrity of the country. They said the resolution would be adopted by the House unanimously debate on the resolutions will be held during next session of the Assembly.
