Karachi electronics dealers (Irfan Group) has demand immediate election of Karachi Electronics Dealers Association (Keda), as the office bearers has completed three years terms. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Muhammad Irfan former president Keda said that although the term of association office bearers has been completed on Monday (February 20, 2012), but they are reluctant to announce new elections.
He said that a delegation of electronics dealers met Idrees Memon President and other Keda officials at association office for election and issuance of new membership forms. Idrees Memon promised to issue new membership forms in two days, besides announcement of election, however despite a week they have not issued new membership forms, he added.
"We demand formation of an independent six member election commission, which should hold election in 90 days according to Keda rules", he said and added if election commission not announced, dealers will be free to call a general body meeting against the present office bearers.
He alleged that hurdles are been also creating in renewal of membership of old members and issuance of new membership forms by the Keda body. After press conference Muhammad Irfan along with several electronics dealers reached Keda office to nominate an election committee; however police and other law enforcement agencies not allowed entering in the office.
