Zakat and Ushr Department has released Rs 221.210 million to vocational training institutes of the province for extending technical training to deserving students. This amount has been released as second six-monthly instalment for the year 2011-12 through which 33,472 deserving students would be benefited, the Punjab Minister for Zakat & Ushr, Malik Nadeem Kamran said on Friday.
According to him, Punjab government attaches top priority to make deserving student self-sufficient so that they could earn their bread and butter in a respectable manner. Malik Nadeem said that Rs 36.103 million have been released to the vocational training institutes of Lahore division. Likewise, Rs 34.347 million to Gujranwala division.
Rs 29.704 million to Faisalabad division, Rs 20.010 million to Rawalpindi division, Rs 17.066 million to Sargodha division, Rs 16.114 million to Sahiwal division, Rs 25.382 million to Multan division, Rs 22.943 million to Bahawalpur division whereas Rs 19.541 million have been released to the vocational training institutes of Dera Ghazi Khan Division and the process of distribution of funds has also been started.
